SUBJECT  :  Appointment of Fr. Jessel Gerard M. Gonzales, SJ as Ateneo High School (AHS) Associate Principal for Formation effective 1 August 2011.

I am happy to inform the Ateneo de Manila community of the appointment of Fr. Jessel Gerard “JBOY” M. Gonzales, SJ as Ateneo High School (AHS) Associate Principal for Formation effective 01 August 2011.

Fr. Jboy completed his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy at Xavier University, Ateneo de Cagayan, Cagayan de Oro Cityin 1989, and obtained his MA in Pastoral Ministry – Magna cum Laude at the Ateneo de Manila University in 2010.

He entered the Society of Jesus in 1989 and was ordained a priest in 2001.

 Prior to this assignment, he served as Asst. Prison Chaplain, Philippine Jesuit Prison Service, Muntinlupa National Penitentiary in 2010; Director of Jesuit Music Ministry from 2004-2010; Chaplain of Ateneo de Manila University Dorm from 2007-2009; Chaplain, University of the Philippines-Diliman from 2004-2008; and Assistant Secretary of the Provincial of the Philippine Province of the Society of Jesus from 2003-2006.

He spent his regency at Xavier University where he taught Christian Humanism and English, and served as Moderator of Ateneo Youth Christian Life Community, PAGASA (School Paper), and Days with the Lord. He was also Campus Minister of Xavier University High School from 2001-2003.

We warmly welcome Fr. Jboy to the University.   We thank him for accepting this important responsibility for the Ateneo High School.

We would also like to thank Fr. Eli Rowdy Y. Lumbo, SJ, for his dedicated service as Associate Principal for Formation up until May 2011.
